One of the oldest of educational 4 year degree course program in India is BFA. There are some colleges in India offering BFA course for past 150 years like: Government college of Art & Craft, Kolkata (1854); Sir Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai (March 1857).

Fine Art entrance exam is not a centralised exam (one exam for applying for all colleges in India), but candidates has to apply for their interested colleges and clear the BFA exams individually.

What is MAH AAC CET?

MAH AAC CET is a state level Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted annually by the State Government of Maharashtra. It is conducted to regulate the admission for the first year of the four year BFA course in private unaided college, government aided colleges, and government colleges within the state of Maharashtra like: JJ School of Art, Rachana Sansad College of Applied Art, Mumbai etc. It is mandatory for all candidates, who are seeking admission for BFA courses within the state of Maharashtra, to write MAH AAC CET.

Who is Eligible to apply for MAH AAC CET?

• Candidates who intend to write the MAH AAC CET examinations, must be appearing or completed 10 +2 with 45%, with English as a language subject.
• Candidates domicile of the state of Maharashtra; or who have parents domicile within the state of Maharashtra; candidates with Indian Nationality and NRI candidates are eligible for MAH AAC CET.
• The candidates will have to undergo Central Admission Procedure and will be assigned their desired institutes as per their achieved score in MAH AAC CET.

Entrance Exam Pattern for MAH AAC CET:

MAH AAC CET consists of three practical papers of 50 marks each and one objective paper of 40 marks. The objective paper will be computer based in MCQ format. The practical examinations will be pen and paper based, and the candidate must carry all required material along. The objective paper consists of questions based on general knowledge, current affairs, computer basics, basic art and design theory, colours, signs and symbols. The practical papers are proportions, observation, drawing skills, perspective, colour, composition, finishing skills, memory sequence, element composition, etc.

Bhu BFA entrance exam dates are out so as the form filling dates. All the detailed instructions are mentioned below

(i) There shall be ONE THEORY PAPER. The Theory Paper shall comprise 50 multiple-choice questions of 60 minutes duration carrying 200 marks. Questions shall be on general awareness in Visual Arts (Painting, Sculpture, Commercial Art/Applied Art, Pottery, Ceramics and Textiles).

(ii) Practical Examinations : Total Mark : 400 Duration : 120 Minutes

Objective and Content:

To test the candidate’s aptitude and acumen pertinent to the aspects of imagination, visualization creativity, innovation in conjunction with understanding of perspective, scale, depth, light/shade, proportioning (in any medium i.e. Pencil, Colour Pencils, Pastels, Crayons, Water Colour, Poster Colour etc.).

NOTE:

1. The practical examinations for shortlisted candidates will be held at BHU Campus, Varanasi only.

2. Appearance in both Theory and Practical Examinations is mandatory in order to be eligible for consideration for admission.

There shall be one paper of 90 minutes (One and half hours) duration carrying 400 marks containing 100 multiple-choice questions. These questions will be based on knowledge of Hindi and Sanskrit Languages of Madhyama/10+2 or equivalent examination standard.

Medium of Examination

The medium of Question Papers for all the Examinations shall be English and Hindi except for those that have been identified to be using only/ either English or Hindi.
